Participation in the study, the realization of a "Celestial Crane" carbon Iaito with our partner Katanas-samurai.com and Katanas-murasame.com:We realized, the assembly/drilling of the Tsuka on the Nakago, the adjustment of all the parts, the braiding in Hineri Maki with a custom Koshirae. Commercial information on the site: https://www.katanas-murasame.com/Iaito-Carbone-cbaaaalRa.asp
Modernity at the service of tradition.
The "Celestial Crane" Iaito is an exceptional iaito, the result of Murasame's reflection on the concept of an ultra-light practice sword for Iaido.
The materials traditionally used in the manufacture of Iaitos (steel, alloy, aluminum) do not allow you to go below a certain minimum weight (about 650 g).
The only suitable metal is aluminum but it is fragile, soft and not very rigid.
So why not use something other than metal, for example carbon fiber?
This choice turned out to be wise becausecarbon fibercombines many qualities:solidity, rigidity and above all a very low weight. In addition, its color and texture add an extraordinary visual to this board.
To give life to this Iaito Murasame used a very high quality carbon, the one used on the Airbus A 380.
The company ReUse Composite Innovation was responsible for making the carbon plate, cutting the blade and making the groove.
The grinding was entrusted to Tom Fleury Knives.
All the dressing part (Tsuba, Fuchi, Kashira, Seppa, Habaki and Menuki) is the work of Curiositas Technologies.
It was our partner, the Japanese Saber Workshop, who did the braiding of the Tsuka, the assembly of the fittings, the adjustment and the final adjustment of the Iaito.
The Iaito “ Grue Céleste ” was presented for the first time at the Mondial Coutellia show in Thiers in May 2018.
It weighs 550 g, it is solid, lively and extremely handy. It can be further lightened according to needs and go down to approximately 420 g! A record!
Designed and made entirely by hand in France for practitioners looking for an ultralight and unique Iaito.

Refurbishment of a Tanto and a Wakizashi:We carried out for the Tanto, the polishing of the blade, the repair of the original Saya and the assembly-timing to remove the play at the level of the Tsuba. For the Wakizashi, the blade was not polished, we made the braiding in Hineri Maki with a Koshirae that we looked for for the client and mounted/adjusted. We have also provided a Tsuba and an Old Saya which has been refurbished. We installed natural silk Sageo from Japan that we tied with a presentation knot. We searched for the 2 Kogatana, then cleaned and polished the 2 blades.

Custom creation of a functional Replica with a sharp blade of the Katana Mugen Typhoon inspired by the manga “Samurai Champloo”:
Katana Mugen Samurai Champloo
This saber is inspired by Le“Guom”Or“Dao” long vietnamese saber.Initially, the creation of Vietnamese swords was influenced by the straight blades of the Tang Dynasty (618 - 907 AD).
Then over time, the style evolved.Vietnamese blacksmiths were inspired by Japanese curved blades of the Moroha Zukuri type(i.e. with an ogive point and a double edge, the lower edge (Ha-nhan) and the upper edge (Thuong-Nhan) being only on the third or on the half of the length of the blade, starting from the tip).
Later, this type of sword with a curved blade evolved into the Guom or the Dao and had only one cutting edge. This is again clear evidence of the influence of straight-bladed swords from the Tang Dynasty (618 - 907 AD). There are two types, the “Gum” which is wielded with two hands and the Guom which is wielded with one hand.
Today, this type of sword is used specifically in the practice of Vietnamese martial arts and in particular in Viet Vo Dao Vovinam, a very complete martial art which includes a wide variety of techniques. The “Quyen” (equivalent to the Japanese Kata) allow you to review your techniques and improve them on your own.
